England beat Pakistan by five wickets to claim second T20 world title

They become the first men's team to hold the 20-over and 50-over titles at the same time

England have won the T20 World Cup for the second time, beating Pakistan by five wickets in the final in Melbourne.

Chasing 138 to win, England lost early wickets but Jos Buttler (26) and Alex Hales (18) put on a 41-run partnership to steady the innings.

Ben Stokes then hit a quickfire 52 from 49 balls to take England to the brink of victory, before Sam Curran (13 not out off 3) hit the winning runs with four balls to spare.

For Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi took 2-22 from his four overs, while Haris Rauf and Mohammad Nawaz took one wicket each.
